HIGHLIGHTS: Well this isn't fair. A new study has found that the one thing that guarantees a successful career is . . . GOOD LOOKS. Researchers found good looks had more of an impact on people's success than IQ, education, or their parents' education.

HIGHLIGHTS: NBC's "Sound of Music Live!" special attracted 18.5 million viewers . . . but judging by the shots it has taken on social media, a lot of people thought it was a train-wreck. You won't find JON PARDI on the dance floor this New Year's Eve . . . because he'll be recovering from surgery.
He says, quote, "This year for Christmas, I'm going to get knee surgery. I have to get my meniscus repaired, and I have to get some cleanup from a previous surgery on my ACL."
Jon actually NEEDS to stay off of his feet because he plans to be on road in time to promote his debut album "Write You A Song", which is out January 14th.
Have a great day!

As for her favorite thing about country music, she said quote, "The storytelling. The honest feeling you get when you listen to it. I love the sad slow country songs." (You can check out the entire "10 Random Questions" here.)
JOSH THOMPSON has finished recording his second album and if he's to be believed, listening to it might cause you to break the law. He says, quote, "There's a lot of party, and there's great songwritery, lyrically loaded heartache and love songs.
"At the same time, it's something you can put on and get a speeding ticket to, or drink beer to and have a party. I'm proud of it."
(Yes, he said "songwritery". If you Google it, it seems to be a term that songwriters actually use. As far as the album, that's supposed to come out early next year.)
Have a great weekend and stay warm!
