Five Ways to Make Your Day Awesome
HIGHLIGHTS: It's Monday, so here are some easy tips from Real Simple.com to avoid stress and have a fantastic day. You should have the same breakfast each morning . . . instead of a "to-do" list, write up an "ignore" list . . . and take some time to completely zone out.
FULL STORY: Real Simple put together a list of five easy tips to make your day awesome. And some of them might surprise you . . .
1. Eat the same breakfast every morning. The idea is that your morning is less stressful if your first meal is already decided. And you're supposed to make it healthy, like oatmeal or an omelet. Last minute choices tend to be stuff like donuts.
2. Savor your morning coffee. It may sound crazy to slow down when you've got things to do, but experts claim that you should try to ENJOY what you're drinking, instead of mindlessly gulping it down.
3. Write out an "ignore" list. This is pretty much the opposite of a "To Do" list. Make a list of all the non-essential stuff that you can ignore . . . like emails that you don't need to answer, vacuuming, and anything else that you can postpone.
4. Take some time to zone out. You're supposed to get to a place where you're not thinking about anything. But don't make it that complicated. Just let yourself listen to music, play a game, or watch TV, guilt-free.
5. When you ask "how are you?", actually listen to the answer. It's a throw-away question, and we don't really pay attention to what people say in response. But try to. It's supposed to lift your spirits, and help you connect.
HIGHLIGHTS: Last night, JEFF BEZOS . . . the founder and CEO of Amazon . . . announced a new plan: Delivery by FLYING ROBOT DRONES. The drones could deliver a product just HALF AN HOUR after you order it . . . and they should be operational in the next four or five years.
HIGHLIGHTS: On Thanksgiving, a 23-year-old got into a fight over a TV at a Walmart in New Jersey. Fortunately . . . or unfortunately . . . the cops were ALREADY at the store, dealing with a woman who'd SPAT on another woman's CHILD during a fight over baby clothes. The 23-year-old ended up being pepper sprayed and arrested . . . there's no word if the spitting woman was arrested.
TMZ posted an old photo of LUKE BRYAN holding a can of Busch beer while driving his truck on his ranch in Tennessee. Then they went out of their way to point out that . . . even though he was drinking and driving . . . he did nothing illegal. (???)
According to the Knoxville Police Department it's not against the law to drink alcohol while operating a motor vehicle in the state of Tennessee . . . as long as it's on private property. Now you know. (Here's the pic. It's from last July.)
Country Music Hall of Famer LYNN ANDERSON took to her Facebook page hoping to thank the Good Samaritan who may have saved her life by calling an ambulance after seeing her car leave the road and skid into some gravel.
She'd recently had a pacemaker installed and her health could have been at risk if she didn't get immediate attention. This happened on her way to the GEORGE JONES tribute concert where she was supposed to perform.
Have a great day!
