CONDITIONED SHOES KEEP YOUR FEET COLD ON THE GROUND _ Summer's a few

look to Japan for help. A Japanese website called Chiyoda is now selling air
conditioned shoes. The dress shoes run about $80 a pair and have small fans in
the soles.

BEER
TURNED INTO ENERGY _ A brewery in Alaska is powering its operations
with beer. The Alaskan Brewing Co. uses a $1.8 million furnace that can burn the
grains left over after the brewing process. The beer power saves nearly half a
million dollars a year.

WACKY-BUT-TRUE:
CAR TOWED AFTER SPOT IS REPAINTED AS HANDICAPPED _ Authorities in Tel
Aviv, Israel, repainted a parking spot as a handicap zone while a car was parked
there. Then, after painting was complete, they towed the car away for parking
illegally because it didn't have a permit. The owner of the car received an
