Today is Friday June 14, 2013
HIGHLIGHTS: A new survey had dads rank the three WORST Father's Day gifts. They are: Socks and underwear . . . a tie . . . and FORGETTING, or not giving him anything at all. The best homemade gifts are photos of the kids, handmade cards and gifts, and just spending time with the family. The best gifts that cost MONEY are electronics, power tools, and sports gear and equipment.
HIGHLIGHTS: Last month, a 34-year-old in Minnesota was renovating the walls of a house when he found a copy of a 1938 comic book with the first appearance of SUPERMAN. He paid $10,100 for the house . . . and the comic sold for $175,000 on Tuesday. And now, he's found ANOTHER Superman comic in the walls. It's not the same one, so it won't be quite as valuable, but it's being appraised.
HIGHLIGHTS: A new survey found 92% of people still get advice from their dads. The top things we ask our dads for advice on are big purchases, switching career paths, and making a decision about education.
HIGHLIGHTS: KACEY MUSGRAVES has a boyfriend . . . and that kind of happiness is wreaking havoc on her songwriting. She says, quote, "I need to be depressed to get good material. It's hard to write when you're really happy, so I'll ask a co-writer, 'Please tell me about the terrible parts of your relationship.'"
HIGHLIGHTS: KIP MOORE is living with a ghost that sweeps his floors and cleans his house . . . and he's losing sleep over it. He says, quote, "I'll hear some loud crashes at 3:00 A.M. in the middle of the night. It'll give you a heart attack, that's for sure. But at least she's clean. She sweeps, so at least she's clean."
Have a great weekend!
