HIGHLIGHTS: Former "Sopranos" star JAMES GANDOLFINI passed away yesterday, after suffering a massive heart attack in Italy. He was 51. James is best known for his role as Tony Soprano, for which he won three Emmys.
HIGHLIGHTS: A new study out of Michigan State University found you're MEAN to ugly people. Even if you don't realize it. The study had people rate how much their coworkers are mean to them . . . then had strangers evaluate their attractiveness. And researchers found the people who were rated the least attractive reported the most meanness.
HIGHLIGHTS: According to a new survey, the hardest night to get to sleep is Sunday. Two out of five people said it took longer to get to sleep on Sunday than any other night, and it takes an average of half an hour longer to fall asleep. Saturday was the next-hardest night. Tuesday and Thursday were the two EASIEST nights to fall asleep.
HIGHLIGHTS: A new study out of Sweden has found that losing weight improves your MEMORY. Researchers gave women a memory test . . . then gave them the same test after they dropped an average of about 18 pounds. The women did better on the test afterward . . . and brain scans showed they were better at storing and recalling memories.
HIGHLIGHTS: KEIFER THOMPSON says he ignored the pain in his throat for almost a year until it developed into a hemorrhage and a polyp on his vocal cords. He's about 70% healed and has changed the bad habits that caused the trouble. But there's still no word though when THOMPSON SQUARE will perform again.
