HIGHLIGHTS: This happened four years ago, but the story just surfaced now. In October of 2009, a 41-year-old woman in New York overdosed on painkillers and muscle relaxants. Doctors declared she had irreversible brain damage, so her family pulled the plug. And just as doctors were about to remove her organs . . . she WOKE UP on the operating table. The hospital was fined but her family decided not to sue.
HIGHLIGHTS: In January, a 60-year-old woman in California was convicted on 29 felony counts of fraud for collecting $650,000 for a fake injury. So she jumped bail and has been on the run ever since. But last month, she decided to tweet, quote, "Catch me if you can." And U.S. marshals used the tweet to trace her to Mexico . . . and catch her. She's facing at least 20 years in prison.
HIGHLIGHTS: Early Monday morning, in Texas, a guy was home with his girlfriend when his EX showed up and started yelling. So the guy grabbed his gun and tried to SHOOT her. But his girlfriend tried to stop him, got in the way . . . and he accidentally shot HER in the chest. She's in the hospital in stable condition. He was arrested for aggravated assault.
HIGHLIGHTS: Despite earlier reports, RANDY TRAVIS did NOT have major heart surgery. But he DID have a tiny pump inserted to stabilize his heart . . . and he is still in critical condition. His rep issued astatement saying, quote, "We are very thankful to the fans for their love and support during this time."
JAKE OWEN wrote on his Facebook page yesterday that he was going in for surgery. It doesn't sound like it's related to his Go Kart injury from Sunday, though, because he said it's something he's been avoiding.
HIGHLIGHTS: A guy who posted death threats on TAYLOR SWIFT'S Facebook page decided to show up at her Pittsburgh concert holding a "Taylor Swift is Satan" sign. He was arrested and forced to undergo a mental evaluation after telling the cops, quote, "Death comes on the sixth day, so Taylor Swift is in danger."
HIGHLIGHTS: Someone decided to impersonate JAMES OTTO on his Facebook page by having conversations with fans and then sending them texts pretending to be him. James found out about it and got some payback by posting the creep's phone number.
Have a great day!
