HIGHLIGHTS: Here are some cheap, easy Christmas gift ideas when you're in a jam. Fold $1 bills into origami shapes . . . it makes giving someone $10 look a lot cooler. Bake a big batch of cookies. Give someone lottery scratchers. Or make a photo collage from their Instagram photos and have it printed cheaply at Walgreens.
HIGHLIGHTS: Last Thursday, a 68-year-old car dealership owner in Arkansas butt-dialed an ex-employee . . . just as he was hiring a HITMAN to KILL HIM. The employee heard his boss giving the hitman his address, and telling him to burn the place down if necessary. The cops investigated, found someone had tampered with the gas stove at the guy's house, and the 68-year-old was arrested.
HIGHLIGHTS: The New York Police Department is asking bars NOT to let people dressed as Santa get too DRUNK. As the head of a neighborhood association said, quote, "What do you tell a five-year-old when they see Santa passed out on the street, vomiting or defecating in front of the house?"
HIGHLIGHTS: Here's an interesting fact: About 100 years ago, kids didn't go trick-or-treating on Halloween . . . they did it on Thanksgiving. It was called "Thanksgiving masking." Kids would dress up as BEGGARS and HOBOS, wear masks, and go door-to-door for candy and pennies. And in some areas, it lasted through the 1920s.
HIGHLIGHTS: MIRANDA LAMBERT shut down the rumors that she had weight reduction surgery. She wrote on her website, quote, "I want to set the record straight. I did NOT have surgery to lose weight. That is ridiculous. I lost my weight the healthy and good old-fashioned way. Watching what I eat and working out with my trainer."
HIGHLIGHTS: Several country stars shared their feelings about the death of honky-tonk performer WAYNE MILLS. . . who was shot during an argument with a club owner over the weekend. BLAKE SHELTON Tweeted, "Extremely sad to hear about the death of my old friend Wayne Mills. Rest in peace brother." DIERKS BENTLEY said, "Totally shocked and saddened to hear about Wayne's death."

HIGHLIGHTS: Yes, there are people who are already lined up for Black Friday. Reports have come in from TWO different Best Buys in northeast Ohio . . . where it's REALLY COLD right now . . . of people camping out to be the first ones inside next week.
HIGHLIGHTS: According to a professional photographer, there are a couple simple tricks if you want to look more photogenic in photos . . . stick your head forward a little, and SQUINT. If you squint and smile just a little bit . . . like you would if you were COCKY and had a secret . . . it supposedly makes you look way better in pictures.
HIGHLIGHTS: What's something you wish you could experience again for the first time? OTHER than that. A few of the best ones we've heard are: Christmas morning as a child . . . the "Hey, I really like you" stage before a relationship . . . and the first day at work, when it was new and exciting and not soul crushing.
HIGHLIGHTS: According to a new survey, the average American estimates they have about $26 in loose change lying around the house . . . but it's actually more than DOUBLE that. If you collect all your change and convert it to cash, you're looking at an average of $56.
HIGHLIGHTS: According to a new poll, 65% of us are more excited about Thanksgiving LEFTOVERS than Thanksgiving DINNER. And not surprisingly, the TURKEY is what we're looking forward to the most, followed by stuffing, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce.
HIGHLIGHTS: Next time you have a job interview, pay attention to the COLORS you wear . . . because they all send different messages. Black shows leadership, blue shows you're a team player, white shows you're organized, and bolder colors like green, yellow, orange, and purple show you're creative.
HIGHLIGHTS: KELLIE PICKLER was asked if she'd ever pose for "Playboy". She wouldn't, but not because she's modest. She said, quote, "My dad and grandpa would find whoever took the picture and probably kill them. Just so that my dad doesn't go back to jail. I'm not gonna do it."

HIGHLIGHTS: A new study just found that the key to a happy marriage for men is . . . a HOT WIFE. Men with attractive wives reported higher satisfaction in their marriages. Not surprisingly, that WASN'T the case for women . . . a handsome husband or an unattractive husband didn't affect whether a woman was satisfied in her marriage.
HIGHLIGHTS: In exactly five words, what makes you angrier than anything else? Some of the best ones we've heard are: Arguing with the willfully ignorant . . . borrowers who break your belongings . . . a false sense of entitlement . . . and "How's the job search going?"
HIGHLIGHTS: According to a new survey, 92% of Americans say they want to get a new job next year . . . and 83% will aggressively go out job hunting. Only 5% of people plan on being at their current job one year from now.
HIGHLIGHTS: A 10-year-old girl in Texas named Jordyn Self accidentally found her big Christmas present recently . . . an American Girl doll called "Saige." And instead of keeping it, she decided to raise money for troops overseas. She and her mom set up a raffle on Facebook, and for $1, you can buy a chance to WIN the doll, which retails for $110. But they've already raised THOUSANDS.
HIGHLIGHTS: KIP MOORE had the chance to get his first kiss in fifth grade, but he was too shy. But when the opportunity came up again with the same girl in seventh grade, he took it. He says, quote, "I'd never kissed anybody, and I was, like, 'Why is all this drool coming out of my mouth right now?'"
HIGHLIGHTS: BRAD PAISLEY is being honored with the Video Visionary Award at the "American Country Awards". It recognizes his talent for coming up with "creative and immensely entertaining" music videos. This is only the second time it's been given out.
