Not to put anything on non-moms, nothing wrong with that at all!! I am just saying....that moms can relate...to each other, even when we don't know each other!
I recall when Rissa was still in diapers, getting ready to move to training pants and potty training, being in the diaper isle at the store and striking up a conversation about potty training and certain products with another woman...a mom...that I didn't know at all, but we talked and laughed about it for a good 10 minutes.
We all go thru stuff with our kids and can relate to other moms going thru the same thing.
This actually came to mind after purusing my FB page and seeing that my sister in law had posted pictures of her little guy - a big 3 year old - with a bandage on his forehead and blood down his face. He had taken a fall on a sidewalk...a hard one obviously...and ended up getting 5 stitches in his forehead.
Poor guy. And Poor mom too. Thats not easy to go thru on the Moms end of things either.
Ella had fallen down some stairs when she was around 2 and ended up having to get some stitches in her forehead ( yeah, she has a slight scar still) It was only 4 stitches, but still....I recall them all. She was at an urgent care and of course I stayed with her trying to keep her calm and ended up singing her bedtime song to her to calm her down while the doctors put the stitches in ( they were incredibly nice to both her and me!). And afterwards, she had a stack of stickers to play with and I had a good cry on the phone with my Mom!! :)
But its funny how we can all share the feelings and relate, even if we aren't just right there.
Its just a Mom thing...and its a good one.
My friends and I all have them. I know in college, it was reading non-text books...like Danielle Steele...total brain candy. ( And I still do read books like that too!)
But now, its some trash tv!! THings like Real Housewives for some...and for me....Honey Boo Boo Child!!!
IF you watched Toddlers and Tiaras, and honestly I didn't, she was a part of that, but became such a big hit, TLC has given her and her family their own show. And its like watching....well....I can't say for sure. Its fun...its wrong...and yet you are just glued to it.
A total guilty pleasure!
In fact, my Boss here caught me watching some of it online the other day....and chimed in too about how its bad but So Good at the same time!!
And I will say, that all gussied up...fancy...Honey Boo Boo Child IS very pretty and the family IS a very loving family. Just...a bit off of the center most of us are on. Which makes for some FUN watching. Check out a bit more here at this link..... you know I will be!!
Its over! Did you watch it?? I am talking about the Summer Olympics. I have to agree that I did in fact end up watching a LOT more then I had thought I would...or even wanted too....ALL because the Hubby seemed to have it on NON STOP. I mean it was ALL on...I swear. The 8 million different ways to play volleyball...the water ball stuff...and hand ball....AND...the closing ceremonies?
I did watch a part of the opening ceremonies. And to be honest....didn't really enjoy it. FOund it to be....boring and odd to me. So the closing cermonies didn't appeal to me.
I picked the wrong one!!!
From what I can gather, the closing ceremonies were a lot more along the lines of what I think I was thinking for the Opening Ceremonies....flash and glamour and fireworks. A celebration.
SO now I have until 2016 until the summer games roll around again...in Rio. And I have a feeling that I will likely watch BOTH the opening and the closing ceremonies for that one. I just think Rio will be bright and wild and fun.....oh, and the games of course will be fun too.
Just wish me luck getting thru the Winter Olympics next....
