Not for me!  I or we....will be married 10 years this November!

But I just got a wedding invite from a friend and am very excited for her and her fiance to get married!!  Plus, weddings are fun.  And...its always interesting to see what people register for on those Bridal registries.

I admit that we registered and we had everything from basics like towels and blankets to fondue pots.  And I believe that we got very useful gifts....great stuff to start our life together.  BUT...like a lot of couples do now, we were already living together when we got married.  Honestly tho, we didn't have a hard time combining house hold stuff, because as a single bachelor guy....most of his stuff didn't make the cut and I believe went to the dump instead.

But many couples getting married have already "set up house"...so...what to register for??

I happened along this aritcle online about some of the most unusual items on registries...and it made me laugh, but also...I get it.

Some of the items were clippers...for their dogs paws, Glassware....in lots of 50s...like 50 wine glasses, 50 margarita glasses....a tent....an Xbox...diapers...and Uno playing cards ( altho I think we registered for games too!)  Were just some of the items people mentioned.

But really....if the couple has already set up house and has plates and sheets and towels...and wants something a bit different...why not??  Its fun and something they will like too....or, you can do the good standard that ALL couples appreciate...but can't technically register for....money.

Because we all know that after the fun day of the wedding...the honeymoon....its all right back to normal.  Living together day to day....and forgetting who gave what and why you registered for stuff anyways..... and just enjoying life together.

As a Mom....we all get it.  There was a story online today about how a little girl had posted a flyer about a missing teddy bear.  Well, a Sweden cop saw it and posted it on the facebook page for the cops.  Some people were outraged...of course...saying that the cops were wasting time and money and should be out looking for real bad guys....not missing Teddy Bears.

Really?  Have these people ever had to deal with a small child who can't or won't go to sleep without their special friend...how they will cry into the night...keeping up mom and dad too...because they miss their friend?? As a mom that treasures sleep....I think it was a GREAT idea of the cop to do that!  And actually pretty sweet too.  Sadly, at the time of the story posting....the Teddy Bear was still missing....and I feel for those parents and the child! 

I wouldn't be suprised to see the parents put up a Missing Sleep flyer too!!!

Not that you can tell from the outside, but inside of me...there is a mini athlete trying to get out.  ( see how well I have hidden this inner person??? )   But seriously, I really DO want to get out and do things.  First on my list is to learn to play tennis.  My hubby has always played and we are working on teaching me....finding the time is the hard part right now.

And I have been doing a real honest work out routine, until last week when arthritis over took my knees and I am now waiting for it to leave.....please soon!...So I can get back on that.  BUT...I want more!!!

I am inspired by the Iron Man taking place this weekend and the amazing things these athletes do in just ONE day...biking, running and swimming too.  I love it!  And last weekend was the Dirty Dash...which is muddy running fun!!!  And I have a secret, well now a bit more public desire to actually DO IT!!!!

So....here it is...on the table.  I am going to sign up and Do next years dirty dash!!  And bloomsday.  And yes, learn to play some tennis too!! :)  Hopefully my knees will not be an issue anymore and I can finally let this inner athlete out and free....and see if it really CAN do what it thinks it CAN!   And since its in writing...for all to see....I have to keep that promise tomyself right?? Post it and it has to happen..... or I will just quietly delete it and drink wine instead!!!
